The debut album by singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Haydn Vitera is a sonic tapestry of this
talented artist's vocal and instrumental versatility and of his wide-ranging musical influences in Latin,
Country, and Rock.
From the guitar-driven Texas Rock of "Throwin' the Fight" and "Shoulda Seen It Comin'" to the bluesy
bilingual Tex-Mex of "Language of Love" to the powerful Rock en Espanol grooves of "Ahora Que" and
"Todo, Mi Vida", Haydn proves he can take a wide array of styles and make them his own. A glance at
the liner notes shows that he performed a large portion of the instrumental work including lead guitar,
Spanish guitar, piano, and of course, the violin...from the smooth, tasteful lines on Mike Cross' "Keep a
Candle Burning", to the Asleep at the Wheel-style twin fiddles with Grammy winner Jason Roberts on
"La Plaga", to the screaming rock violin tones on "Shoulda Seen It Comin'" and "Todo, Mi Vida."
The album includes songs written and co-written by Haydn and his brother David Vitera as well as
material by up and coming Texas songwriters Will Dunlap ("Otra Vez"), Rodney Pyeatt ("I'll Believe It
When I See It"), and the one and only Mike Cross of Forlini & Cross ("Keep a Candle Burning"). There
are two covers on the record...a honky-tonk piano/twin-fiddle-driven version of the Spanish classic "La
Plaga" by 50's era Mexican rockers Enrique Guzman y Los Teen Tops and a glimpse of Haydn's jazzy
side on Etta James' "Damn Your Eyes."
